  what you had to do, and began,! @6 Z" Y  }! E6 T
  though the voices around you& C: k% a1 a6 r: n4 l; N1 I' C4 @
  kept shouting
( N( N2 Y; e8 i. t1 Y  their bad advice--
( d; D2 O: c# r8 H0 ^; |- H/ }0 J) Y  有一天,你终于知道,
1 r7 T' G0 {  {8 `+ ?# r0 ?  什么是你必须得做,并开始去做,
  [; ]4 K, T- `& o/ x  虽然你周围的声音,% \* G4 X# q1 t& Z" o
  一直喊出,
& C: f0 k1 f+ {7 N9 I  其各种糟糕的建议——
. _" v2 ^) |7 E6 f$ s  though the whole house6 x9 U2 k* b) }0 c+ b
  began to tremble
3 P) b( `# t2 i  and you felt the old tug
+ z4 `& @: T0 V1 r# h+ R  at your ankles.5 c, I* l3 ~& @. v! ^1 V; J
  “Mend my life!”
! ?) z2 f5 g' ~8 ]# B- m! n' |0 u  each voice cried.+ z9 y/ l) I- Y2 {7 B5 o% `
  But you didn’t stop.' J+ X9 \% S, p
  You knew what you had to do,$ p1 U) `" @( {: A& C$ {' g: _
  虽然整个房子,  G) ?0 K4 L8 ~# @
  开始颤抖,
. S7 d( _! l- Q8 @  你亦感到那条旧绳索,
/ D" S1 q' x* y0 n* n" S- s' K- g  绊住了你的脚踝。
# E' n% M# _2 E9 K: ^/ ~. z  “修补我的人生!”
' o- f% g" S* [2 Z2 }, J  每个声音都在哭喊。: s. t3 b! H) u/ n
  但你并没停止。( h5 G. D8 X4 h- {
  你知道什么是你必须得做的,' n: x, g! j: w* k* C6 D* Z
  though the wind pried
- _, A0 S8 a# `: s  with its stiff fingers6 n1 m9 r+ ]3 ^# q
  at the very foundation
; H3 K3 _8 I5 C, \  though their melancholy
$ v: q# G) j8 _8 I2 e7 J  was terrible.3 I( N) c  p% P
  It was already late
. O7 T+ H, y/ u1 a* Y8 T: B  z  enough, and a wild night,( r& F# B' f) `7 p; I6 a% {
  and the road full of fallen! u3 m* ~% F( \
  branches and stones.
; ?3 m1 k. a/ A- T: C6 v4 v6 G  虽然风用它僵硬的手指,3 v0 {6 g( `+ S' S
  直往根基,9 T5 @" ^8 c7 F: B( V" z) M) v
  撬捣,) e  R) Y6 b+ E% H9 U0 P
  虽然它们的忧郁,
0 r3 g+ \1 `, B; ?6 ~  着实可怕。9 Z* [2 K3 O( @6 E) L) E9 n
  天色,7 u  e3 W- W7 H9 ?% F& b! M5 K/ I
  已经很晚,这是个疯狂的夜晚,
5 z4 _5 W% |8 v+ L8 Y/ M7 p$ ?1 b  路上满是倒下的,, y7 Z4 d) P: c

  as you left their voices behind,3 C3 G& F3 h- ?& e' e7 K
  the stars began to burn; n1 P! ^' v" c. Q! ]
  through the sheets of clouds
& O/ z- z" D' Z1 ?7 D  and there was a new voice4 B3 P  `. _0 p$ O7 }! l) w4 z" O' U
  which you slowly
$ D/ G& U, I( A+ u7 E  recognized as your own,
8 a1 _3 m# }9 u* N. J' q  that kept you company
6 S, k6 I( \) ^! [  as you strode deeper and deeper
' w( p' g( Z8 K) {3 B  into the world,
7 x+ h6 ~; v6 O* Z4 c) H2 E  determined to do. |( J4 _8 k9 E5 A
  the only thing you could do--7 ^; g/ M+ B: r- [( |3 {
  determined to save) A5 i0 p, ?* F# j. F5 C9 ^4 W/ a
  the only life you could save.
